There's no shortage of by-invitation-only events this year at Art Basel. That said, some Basel-related events aren't just for the upper bracket brigade. Among them, Art Center/South Florida's Kaiju Monster Invasion, an exhibition exploring the world of Japanese Kaiju monsters and their impact on pop culture at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The exhibit features artist appearances, a computer and electronica music competition, vintage '60s and '70s vinyl Kaiju figurines and, best of all, all receptions and programs are free. Call 305-674-8278.

Continuing with the Kaiju monster theme, RA Sushi is offering a For Art's Sake four-course feast for $30 through the duration of the exhibition, which ends Jan. 4. For reservations at RA, call 305-341-0092. Along similar lines, SushiSamba is offering a Ginzatropicalia Edible Art Menu -- a $59 five-course omasake menu available at the Lincoln Road hot spot from Friday through Sunday. Ginzatropicalia, incidentally, is the restaurant's own Art Basel exhibition featuring Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian graffiti artists in a gallery space at 3250 NE First St., Suite 101, in Midtown Miami from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

And since it seems that our Art Basel coverage includes the art of stuffing one's face, let's continue on that edible path with the Bullfrogz Basel Blowout Brunch BBQ from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Scope Art Tent, 2951 NE First Ave. in Wynwood. There's cheap beer, a pig roasted over a wood fire and sides all for $7 per plate. There will also be bloody marys, mimosas, Basel mojitos, art installations by Friends With You, DJs and Brendan O'Hara doing his own brand of Miami jazz. After your pig coma, check out the Bullfrog Beatz after-party at The White Room with Baltimore's DJ Tittsworth.

Over on the Beach at Louis at the Gansevoort, art starlets Nina Clemente and Lola Schnabel host The Next Generation with DJ Alexander Jones at midnight Friday. At SET, the Porcelain Twinz perform their first East Coast Fetish Burlesque since fleeing The Box in NYC, at 11 p.m. Friday. On Saturday at SET, the official Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers closing party will be hosted by Jennifer Oz Leroy with Jimmy Choo, Sergio Rossi, Moschino and a special performance by the Wicked Witch Aerialist. Don't ask, just go. It's art, remember?
